Sofian's New Computer
A couple weeks back, I got the idea to procure a toy laptop for Sofian, since he sees his parents on theirs quite a bit... and he's been grabbing for the keyboards more and more.
This was going to be his first plastic toy, so it took some convincing of Parie. But I won her over with the idea that he'd have his own laptop and wouldn't try to take over ours when he had this to play with.
As you can see, that worked out to plan.

Bubble Tickle Torture
We got a mystery package on Friday with some Hong Kong-inspired toys and a few other items (we have a decent guess who might have sent it), but the bubble wrap was the biggest hit.

Breaking News: First Steps
Just got a call from Parie who told me that Sofian was using one of our dining table chairs to walk across the room. That's the first time he's tried that. Unfortunately, our camera is MIA (to be picked up tomorrow), so hopefully we'll get some footage of this later in the week.

Partied Out
We hit two birthday/open houses today -- first at Glenn and Lynn's in the morning (which celebrated their twin 40th birthdays as well as their song Rex's first) and then over to Keri's in the afternoon for her 40th shindig. As we left our camera at the first bash, here are some pics captured by Glenn of us enjoying the party.

Rex crawling after Sofian.

Parie looking all crazy-like.

And me wondering if it's too soon to grab another delicious scone.

Some Vids from Our Most Recent PEPS Gathering
Took place at our homestead last week, and the parents quite enjoyed themselves after locking the kids up in the Planet of the Apes-style pen. And there was a lot of fun to be had for the kids on the yoga ball:

Our New Favorite Place
Seattle's Pacific Science Center is pretty good (after two visits, I can see that it might be a bit limited), but right now it is the most awesome place to play for Sofian. They've got a huuuuge toddler play area that he just loves to crawl around for up to an hour. (It's a great way to induce a good nap -- most of the time.) Additionally, it's got a pretty nifty butterfly pavilion and the boy was pretty interested in all that was flying about.
Trying Out New Video at Flickr
We've been posting videos over at the French-based Daily Motion, but with Flickr's new addition of video clips (capped at 90 seconds), we might be switching things up a bit. Here's the first upload -- me and Sofian visiting the library on a recent cloudy Saturday.
Waiting for Sammy...
...at the weekly dads' get-together at C&P Coffee.
[UPDATE] We did indeed meet up with Sammy and his Dad, Charlie (the two Dads had coffee, the boys had apple and puff snacks). Sofian was good at sharing his toys, and the two of them had a lot of fun taking turns at smacking a glass-block wall.
[BTW] I'm going to try to be more fluid in posting by quickly uploading pics I take with my iPhone and then sending them directly to the blog.

A Favorite Recent Photo
Yes, it's been too long since I've posted and you've probably forgotten what the boy looks like. I promise to rectify this situation during the upcoming weeks.
